In the course of yesterday, we witnessed the release of a particular report that seems to anticipate big news at Netflix. The streaming video giant could also embrace the video games world very soon with a new section entirely dedicated to gaming. We are talking about rumors, but from what is emerging on the net in these hours there would be more than a few clues to support these persistent rumors, as a new leak suggests that Netflix and PlayStation partnership is not long in coming.

Netflix and PlayStation partnership leaked?

To bring to light some news on the Netflix gaming situation was Steve Moser, an industry journalist who, on his Twitter profile, showed some interesting discoveries on one of the topics of the moment.

According to what has been discovered, the section dedicated to Netflix gaming currently would have the codename “Shark”. Furthermore, through the datamining of the app for iOS, it was possible to find other interesting information.

In addition to the Shark logo, which represents a shark fin emerging from the water, two other very interesting images have been found that outline what could be the future of the productions arriving on the platform.

Both images come from the world of PlayStation, with the first showing a pair of DualSense and the second representing one of the recent exclusives of the Sony console: Ghost of Tsushima.

Sony has confirmed that the streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, Disney Plus, Spotify, and more will be supported by the PS5 from launch day. At the same time, the company assured that further apps will follow.

With the PS5 coming out in November, you can not only play games. The new console from Sony also supports various streaming apps. In a blog entry, Phil Rosenberg, Senior Vice President, Head of Global Partner Development and Relations, went into a little more detail and named well-known names.

According to Sony, the PS5 supports streaming apps such as Netflix, Spotify, Youtube, and Twitch. You can see an overview below:

1. Apple TV: The app gives you access to Apple TV+, various Apple TV channels, personalized recommendations, and a variety of movies.
2. Disney Plus: The service includes movies, series, shorts, and original content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
3. Netflix: This app brings the Netflix library of films and series to the PS5.
4. Spotify: PS4 users already know it. With this app, you can listen to your favorite music on the PS5 while playing.
5. Twitch: Twitch is also an integral part of the PS5. With the app, gameplay can be shared, viewed, and commented on in the chat directly in the live stream.
6. YouTube: Thanks to the YouTube integration, you can share or upload game scenes live on your own channel, for example.

If you miss one or the other streaming provider: Don’t worry. According to Sony, other streaming apps such as Amazon Prime Video and “many others” will be made available for the PS5 later. The range of entertainment apps should grow continuously after the console is released.

You can find the entertainment apps on the PS5 in their own media area, where they no longer have to be downloaded separately from the PlayStation Store. According to Sony, you can easily switch between gaming and media. In addition, the new control center helps with easy navigation through music.

Media remote control

With the separately available media remote control, you can start your console and navigate through the media offerings. In addition to the built-in start/stop button and the buttons for fast forward and rewind, the media remote control offers the function of making settings such as the volume on compatible televisions.

In addition, the remote control has dedicated launch buttons for Disney Plus, Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube.

Netflix recently revealed Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, a new computer-generated animated series of Resident Evil. Since the announcement was made by accident, there were several details that were still up in the air. Thankfully that changed today, as Capcom finally shared the first official details.

Capcom officially announced Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. According to the company, it is a new animated series made by computers. This production is expected to be available on Netflix sometime in 2021.

Another important point is that Capcom describes this new Netflix series as an original Resident Evil series, which will have horror and action. So fans should look forward to a new story with a world that may surprise fans of the franchise.

“By adding suspense into dynamic action scenes, this series will reveal a Resident Evil world unlike anything seen before,” says the official description for Infinite Darkness.

Now, it is important that you know that the fact that Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will be a production for Netflix and it does not mean that it is completely alien to Capcom. In fact, an important creative of the company will work in it.

What happens is that Hiroyuki Kobayashi, producer of the Resident Evil series, will be in charge of producing and supervising the Netflix series. Note that this creative will also be in charge of the 3 CGI movies of Resident Evil. So there is someone with experience in this area.

According to the insider AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, who is considered as a reliable source, we can look forward to an announcement about Shenmue this weekend. However, he did not reveal what is hidden behind the whole thing in detail.

Dusk Golem caused speculation again via Twitter and pointed out that we can look forward to an announcement about Shenmue this weekend. The insider did not reveal what the whole thing was about in detail, but at least narrowed down the announcement about the popular brand a little. First of all, the most important detail: We shouldn’t expect the announcement of Shenmue 4.

It is also said that behind the revelation there are no ports of Shenmue, Shenmue 2, or Shenmue 3 to other platforms. Instead, we are dealing with “something entirely brand new and more than a book series or a documentary.” According to Dusk Golem, a crowdfunding campaign is not necessary because the project has already been financed.

Since several well-known video game series have received a corresponding series on the Netflix streaming platform in recent months, it is speculated that the upcoming announcement could indeed be related to a Netflix series.

The previous title, Shenmue 3, was released in the last year on November 19, 2019, on PS4 and PC.

Triss Merigold is a re-known character in The Witcher game, other Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer, Triss was quite a popular one. Let’s discuss why Triss Merigold from The Witcher Netflix Series is different from the one in the game. Which among both is the best one, obviously the idea is nothing can beat the game. But still, you can find every reason that makes Triss Merigold Netflix not much of an appealing character.

The Witcher Netflix series presents us with many modified versions of characters that were hated by the gaming community. They were not expecting the characters to be presented in a way of movie characters. This could break the authenticity of their stories and among them, Triss Merigold is one of the widely known and discussed characters from the Netflix Witcher series.

Appearance:

Triss’s appearance is different in-game compared to what is shown as a lady in green in the Witcher Netflix series. This is the first thing that breaks the notion that games can be ported to a movie. Played by Anna Shaffer who played as Romilda Vane in Harry Potter is not much of an eye-catching adaption. She brings up Triss version as a lady sorceress in a green robe. Nothing much powerful about the woman, the game portrays Triss an entirely different entity.

The Legendary Temerian Sorceress of 13th century, and a close friend of Yennefer and Geralt. She also fell in love with Geralt later, which is nowhere show in the Netflix version of the game. She also took care of Ciri and act like her older sister for a short time.

Relation with Geralt:

Triss Merigold has a special relationship with Geralt in the Witcher game. She is an admirable character with strong support. Also, it looks she underplayed in the Netflix series, however, one of the major things that were to an extent wiped out a connection between her and Geralt. She is just shown a supporting character in the Netflix adaption.

In the Witcher game, Geralt had multiple interactions with various characters, the video series keep the guy restricted to Yennefer. Triss appears late in the Netflix series just a guide but there were plenty of things missing between the two. It looks the maker of Witcher Netflix choose to go with a much darker approach by thinning the story down to bare minimum.

1. Striga in Witcher Netflix is Daugther of Princess Adaa:

The monster the Witcher fought in the video series is the daughter of Princess Adda and King Foltest. Princess Adda was already cursed where she can transform herself into a Feral Monster. The Witcher fought with her in The Witcher 2007 Video Game. In the Netflix series, Geralt fights with Adda’s daughter “Striga” who is born from the relationship between the brother and sister i.e. Adda and Foltest (whoops). So there is no Striga in the video game.

2. Ciri Adopted Daughter of Yennefer: (In The Witcher 2007 Video Game)

Ciri or Princess Cirilla was in the care of her grandmother Queen Calanthe (Lioness of Cintra) and later after her kingdom was attacked Ciri escaped. Queen Calanthe in her last message told Ciri to find Geralt of Rivia. While in The Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt (2015) Video game Ciri was an adopted child of Yennefer the powerful Sorcerers, Ciri was born with powerful magical abilities, after the death of her parents she was trained as a Witcher and Yennefer was her coach.

3. Emperor of Nilfgaard is Ciri’s Biological Father: (In The Witcher 2007 Video Game)

According to the game Ciri is the child of the Emhyr var Emreis – ruler of the Nilfgaardian Empire. The one who attacked Cintra, the kingdom of Queen Calanthe. During the Nilfgaard invasion, Queen lost the battle. As per the game, Ciri is her child born with vast magical power where she can make people “shout in their pants – (the best example of kid-friendly text content). Based on the game story, of Geralt helps Nilfgaard in war then Ciri unites with her father and becomes empress. In the Netflix Witcher series, Ciri is found running from Nilfgaard and via the Law of Surprise, her destiny is affixed to Geralt of Rivia. Optimistically Geralt and Jennifer might play mommy-daddy for Ciri.

4. Cahir & Renfri – Netflix Series

Cahir a Nilfgaardian military officer does not exist in the game. In Witcher Netflix it looks he had a major role in finding Ciri, killing people and capturing kingdom. The same applies to the Renfri, a princess turned bandit who wants to kill Stregobor for doing bad things on him. She is not part of video game.

5. Yennefer’s Transformer – Netflix Series

Well, this did not really happen in the game she was showed beautifully at the start, an extremely powerful mage, and Geralt’s love. The Netflix Series showed a tantalizing plot of Yennefer’s transformation that touched my heart. It was painful but she came out pleasant.

6. Netflix series is made up of a lot of things out of the Video Game

Things that are exactly similar to the Witcher video games series is Geralt to an extent, while a lot of things are made-up I am unsure if they are picked from the book or not because I had never tried reading it. But as a gamer I am finding gaps in my mind when I go through the Witcher Netflix series, it’s best I do not remember much of the plot.

I think The Witcher video game tells the story in a much better way while the Netflix series is confusing. In a similar way let’s consider Game of Thrones which after being complicated was easy to understand, characters were not hard to remember, as well the storyline was woven smartly between kingdoms, various characters, etc. The Witcher Netflix is a good attempt to bringing a video game story to a movie story but here the different writing losses grip.

E3 2019 was full of surprises with some amazing titles revealed with new things that talks a lot about subscriptions based services. Ubisoft had introduced Uplay, a game subscription service where under one subscription gamers can have access to more than 100 titles. Next in the line is Square Enix, Company President and CEO Yosuke Matsuda showed interest about starting studios game subscription service that will put everything from class NES game to latest one under one roof.

Based on an article published by The Verge, game publishers are in the race bringing a subscription service like Netflix. In simple worlds, a Netflix of the game will bring out the best titles under a monthly subscription plan and there are possibilities Game Cloud Streaming technology will have a big part in this.

Google Stadia, Microsoft Project xCloud is gaming streaming services, they offer a platform to play games online irrespective to their platforms like a console or a PC. Install the game client and you are good to go.

Monty Subscription services will be the next big thing we will see soon in the gaming world. The question is will this impact new launches, will this be the end of single titles or are game studios pitching the services too early?

The benefit of Subscription-based service is it provides people to pick between old and new games, no need to own a physical or digital version of every title. Similar to Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited, a user does not have to buy every book, instead of on a monthly payment the user can access to hundreds of title, read them for free until they have an active account. Such subscription-based services add the luxury of choice, helping out people to have what they want, instead of single title purchase that turns out expensive.

Game Subscription services will impact many online stores and chains like Game The Shop, the service will be offered directly by the game publishers without any middle man involved reducing the cost and making fast delivery possible. Netflix, Disney, WarnerMedia, Hulu, etc are big in TV and Film streaming. They bring out their exclusive content to their members, under one price window.

If we can have something like this for gaming then possibly there will be a big shift in the gaming world. Especially when Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Stores adds the feature, no more buying.
