You can start this quest from the “Quests” screen and under the “Yule Festival” section. However, there are a few prerequisites for the quest. You will first have to unlock the Brewery for this quest. Once the building is complete, the quest will also appear on the map at the Brewery location.
When you hover over the quest on the map, it reads the first objective, which is to “Talk to the reveler Alwin.” You will locate Alwin within the brewery. As soon as you interact with Alwin, the Case of the Missing Ale quest will begin.

To complete the Case of the Missing Ale quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you will have to:
- Find and talk to Ake
- Find the secret brew
- Bring back the secret brew to Ake

How to Complete Find and Talk to Ake Objective
You will find Ake location on a cliff in the Grantbridgescire region. It is almost exactly to the east of the Ravensthorpe. You can also refer to the below image for help with the location.
Once at the location, look around to find Ake and interact. After the interaction, a cutscene will begin leading to a fist fight with Ake. As soon as you defeat Ake, the first objective will be completed and another cutscene will begin leading to the next objective.
How to Complete Find the Secret Brew Objective
To complete this objective, you will have to find the secret brew, which will be inside a hut within a bandit camp called Ubtech. The Ubtech camp is located to the southeast of where you met and fought Ake. You can refer to the below image for help with the exact location.
There will be several huts in this area, but what you are looking for is the only raised hut. Approach the hut, head inside, and collect the barrel to complete this objective and get the next one.
How to Complete Bring Back the Secret Brew to Ake Objective
As the name gives out, you will have to bring back the secret brew you found to Ake to complete this objective. Ake will be found to the southwest of the Ubtech bandit camp. To be precise, he will be standing beside his boat waiting on the shores of the Great Ouse river. Refer to the below image for the exact location.
One thing to note here is that there will be several enemies guarding the hut with the secret brew. You can avoid combat with them while bringing the brew back to Ake. If you get into the fight, this simple quest can become a bit tricky. Once you find Ake interact and hand over the secret brew. This will trigger a cutscene which will then complete the Case of the Missing Ale quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

AC Valhalla – The Case of the Missing Ale Quest Bug
As mentioned earlier, the quest is buggy and it has some objective marker glitches. If you are not aware of this bug, you will end up looking for Ake everywhere but won’t be able to succeed. For instance, for our last objective, i.e., to bring the secret brew back to Ake, we were given a marker which is around 3000m away from where we picked the brew. The best thing to do here is to ignore the quest markers and follow the route that we have entitled in this guide.
