Do you know how to quickly increase Piloting skill in Starfield? This guide will show you step by step.

Starfield offers the thrilling experience of exploring the vast universe in your spaceship. However, you’ll need to become a skilled pilot to traverse the star systems successfully. We’ll show you the best method to quickly increase your Piloting skill and make the most out of your space journey in Starfield.

How to Level Up Piloting Skill in Starfield

One of the most important skills in Starfield is Piloting. High Piloting skill allows you to fly better starships with more upgrades and weapons. However, leveling up Piloting can take a long time through normal gameplay alone.

Fortunately, there is a more efficient method – joining the UC Vanguard faction. Head to the headquarters located in the MAST district of New Atlantis. Speak to Tuala, who is standing to the left behind the counter. He will direct you to the orientation hall downstairs.

Use the enrollment kiosk there to sign up with the Vanguard officially. Then, continue down the hallway until you reach the simulation room. Two small chambers will immerse you in simulated space combat scenarios.

Stepping into either chamber will start a series of dogfights against computer-controlled fighters and vessels. Every enemy ship you destroy inside the simulation will reward Piloting experience as if it was real combat. But the simulation has no risks – if your ship is hit, you’ll just restart the scenario unharmed.

You can repeat the simulations repeatedly to grind the Piloting experience efficiently. It’s much faster than conventional space combat since the simulated enemies keep coming without pause. Additionally, your ship skills, like targeting and shields, will steadily increase through practice.

How to Level up Piloting Ranks

To reach each subsequent rank after the first, you must destroy a certain number of enemy ships while in space combat. The ships can be from any faction like the Crimson Fleet, but destroying civilian ships is not recommended as it will severely damage relationships with companions from Constellation.

  • Rank 2: Destroy 5 ships (You’ll get some ship upgrades)
  • Rank 3: Destroy 15 ships (You can unlock Class B ships)
  • Rank 4: Destroy 30 ships (You can unlock Class C ships)

That’s everything you need to do if you want to increase Piloting skill in Starfield. If you found this guide helpful, check out other such articles like how to build and customize a spaceship, or find here the best ship tier list.
